Positive Self Talk is Extremely Important
Many personal development coaches teach the principle, "What you think about expands". Here's is that principle in action: Have you ever known somebody that is ALWAYS sick? We mean ALWAYS. What do they constantly talk about? Being sick. What are they constantly telling themselves? I'm sick. And what are they always thinking about? Being sick.
Of course they are going to be sick. If being ill consumes your thoughts, your feelings and causes you to change your daily activities around those thought and feelings, you are going to be sick.
You are Responsible for Your Thoughts
It's really simple. When you pick up one end of the stick, you pick up the other.
You are responsible (response-able) for your thoughts. Thoughts are the only things in life that are truly yours. You are the only one in this world who can control your thoughts. And you can't possibly be healthy if you are always telling yourself that you are ill.
Laugh Yourself Healthy
Have you ever heard a story of someone laughing themselves healthy? In live presentation by our good friend, Mark Victor Hansen, co-author of the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series, he told a story of a woman who was so terribly sick with a 103 degree fever, that she couldn't do much more than just lie in bed and wait until the fever finally left her body. In an effort to pass the time, she started reading Mark's book, and by the time she finished her book her temperature had broken and returned to normal! She said, "My heart was so touched by the inspiring stories, that all of these good thoughts healed by fever".
Now, that may be hard for some of you to believe. And if you deny that story and hear yourself saying, "It’s just not possible", then you're right, it can't be true. Henry Ford once said, "If you think you can, you can. And if you think you can't, you're right."
See there are 2 creations in this world. First is the creation of the idea in your mind, then second is the creation of the physical product itself. So if you can't possibly conceive that you are going to get better, feel healthier or loose that weight you've been talking about... you will never see that dream become a physical reality. You have to believe.
Take Action!
Have you ever told a story so many times that you don't even remember if the story was true? We brainwash ourselves every day.
Between the TV we watch and the people we have contact with, if you don't take control of what you are going to think, the people or words around you will make that decision for you.
To help yourself get on a healthier road, for the next month, every time you wake up, say out loud: "I Feel Healthy! I Feel Happy! I Feel Terrrrrrrrific!"
Say it with enthusiasm! Say it with energy!
And if you're married, make your spouse say it with you. Yes, it may sound a bit corny right now. But we can tell you this much, we’d rather by really corny and really healthy, than really cool and really sick.
